Look, Vader is intimidating, but intimidation is not a platform. Leia has actually done the job. She ran a rebellion against an existing Empire and won, which is a stronger resume than choking your own staff in meetings. She has credibility, because she told the truth even when a planet was on the line. She has courage you can verify, not the kind you announce. And she has the one skill this whole galaxy keeps pretending it does not need, which is getting smugglers, farm kids, Wookiees, droids, and stuffy senators to sit in the same room and agree on something.
Vader divides. Leia assembles. One of those is leadership and one is just a breathing problem with a cape.
So I nominate Leia, the only candidate who can beat Vader without lifting a finger, mostly because she already has the votes he scared away.
