The Genie Grants You a Wish. What Is It?

I think I’d wish for more time.

Not immortality. I’m not sure living forever would actually be a gift. I mean more good time with the people I love.

More ordinary mornings. More dinners where nobody is in a hurry. More walks with the dogs. More conversations that accidentally stretch late into the night. More birthdays, holidays, road trips, lazy Sundays, and completely unremarkable Tuesdays that only become important once you realize how finite they are.

It is tempting to wish for unlimited money or some incredible ability. Those would certainly make life easier. But money can buy a lot of things except another afternoon with someone after they are gone.

Time is the one thing we are always spending without knowing exactly how much is left.

So if a genie gave me one wish, I would not ask for a bigger house, a perfect career, or a winning lottery ticket.

I’d ask for more time with the people and animals I care about.

Because eventually, almost everything else becomes replaceable.

Time together doesn’t.

The genie grants you a wish. What is it?
