What’s Something You’ve Done That Your Past Self Would Be Proud Of?

I think my past self would be proud that I finished my MBA at Clemson.

Not just because of the degree itself, although that means a lot to me. More because of everything that had to happen around it.

Going back to school as an adult is different. You are not building your life around classes anymore. You are fitting classes into a life that is already full. Work still happens. Relationships still need attention. Bills still show up. Life does not politely step aside because you have a paper due.

So finishing meant learning how to keep going when motivation was not enough.

There were long days, competing priorities, deadlines, group projects, and plenty of moments when it would have been easier to say, “Maybe later.” But eventually, later becomes now or never.

And I chose now.

I think the younger version of me would be surprised by that. Maybe even a little impressed.

Not because I became some completely different person, but because I stuck with something difficult long enough to finish it. I proved to myself that growth does not stop when school does. You can still decide to become more capable, more knowledgeable, and more disciplined than you were before.

So yes, I think my past self would be proud of the MBA.

But more than the letters after my name, I think he would be proud that I kept showing up until I earned them.

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?
