The best airport I’ve been to is probably Greenville-Spartanburg, mostly because it is easy.

And honestly, easy matters.

Some airports feel like they were designed by someone who actively resented travelers. GSP is the opposite. It is clean, simple, manageable, and not so big that getting through it becomes a whole emotional journey. You can park, get through security, find your gate, and still have some dignity left. That is a rare airport gift.

The worst airport, for me, is GEG.

Not because it is a terrible airport overall, but because of one very specific security experience that still lives rent-free in my head. I was forced to take out two laptops, a CPAP, a Venty fan, and dual Xebec screens, which turned my bag into a full traveling electronics exhibit right there in the TSA line.

There is something uniquely humbling about unpacking half your mobile office while everyone behind you silently evaluates your life choices.

Airports are funny because they are really just buildings full of people in transition. Everyone is tired, hungry, mildly confused, and pretending they understand the boarding process. So the best ones are the ones that reduce stress. The worst ones are the ones that make you feel like you are starring in a one-person logistical disaster.

So my answer is simple: GSP for best, GEG for worst.

One feels like a calm beginning.

The other made me empty my entire tech ecosystem into a plastic bin.
